July/August issue, Amy Zavatto highlights Tempranillo as a food-friendly match for summery grilled fare, and today’s Drink of the Week—the 2006 Viña Mayor Crianza from Spain’s Ribera Del Duero region—is a great choice. “As a crianza it’s got a bit of barrel-aging” says Kerin Auth, co-owner of New York City’s Tinto Fino wine shop, “but it’s less meaty and smoky than other Tempranillos. Definitely a good match for the grill.” Now on to the hard part—burger or brat?
