Drink of the Week: Birichino Vin Gris Rosé
It took a while, but warm
weather has officially arrived! And to celebrate? A glass of today’s Drink of
the Week, please. Birichino’s Vin Gris is as lovely a summer sipper as they
come. Made from a mix of Grenache (grown high in the Sierra Nevadas), old-vine
Cinsault, limestone-rich Mourvedre and just a touch of Rolle, these grapes
co-ferment with their own native yeasts for delicate, yet nuanced notes of dried,
crushed herbs, citrus zest and wild strawberries. Best of all? A bottle will
set you back less than $20—spend the change on a crusty baguette and a wedge of
creamy Florette and get ready for an afternoon in the sun. $16,
