Drink of the Week: The Classic Negroni

With Negroni Week in full swing, we’re raising a glass to the cocktail that inspired it all. A seemingly simple mix of three ingredients stirred in equal parts—gin, Campari and sweet vermouth—the Negroni has transcended close to a century of cocktail culture and found a place into the hearts of imbibers around the globe. So much so, that it inspired us to launch Negroni Week last year, encouraging bars around the world to donate at least $1 from each Negroni sold during the week to a charity of their choice. Now in its second year, we’ve multiplied the number of participating bars 10-fold, with more than 1,300 cocktail spots from Alabama to Australia mixing up classic Negronis (and favorite variations) and raising funds for myriad charitable organizations. And with the weekend officially here, we hope you’ll head out to visit a participating bar in your own neighborhood to help us toast this great cause.
