Drink of the Week: Goose Island’s Madame Rose
With summer officially
starting tomorrow, we couldn’t be more ready to crack open today’s Drink of the
Week—the Madame Rose from Chicago’s Goose Island brewery. Brewed with native
yeasts and tart Michigan cherries, it rested in Cabernet wine barrels for
almost two years before being bottled earlier this spring. It’s
unapologetically sharp and tangy, with fresh cherry-pie flavors met with a hint
of vanilla and barrel spice. It’s solidly reminiscent of the classic Duchesse
de Bourgogne, and a sour beer any fan of the style is sure to love.
