Imbibe's 4-Ingredient Cocktail Challenge Begins!

The best cocktails are not necessarily the most complicated. In Imbibe's May/June 2013 issue, we challenge four of the country's most creative bartenders to create an original cocktail using just four easy-to-find ingredients. The players? Matthew Lipsky of Chicago’s Charcoal Bar, Erick Castro of San Diego’s Polite Provisions, Naren Young of New York City’s Saxon & Parole and Daniel Shoemaker of Portland, Oregon’s Teardrop Lounge. The results? Four simple cocktails that are big on flavor.

The challenge doesn’t stop there! We want you to try your hand at creating your own original four-ingredient cocktail using our guidelines found here. Share your results on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram and use the hashtag #MixTheMag, and we'll pick some our favorites to share.

In the May/June issue, we also offer up simple recipes for homemade sodas, celebrate the return of the easy-drinking cream ale, tour New Orleans’ expanding cocktail scene, explore a new cadre of free-thinking California winemakers and scout out Cleveland’s budding Ohio City District.

This issue will be on newsstands from April 29 until June 30, and the issue is available for purchase at imbibemagazine.com/shop.

If you're a subscriber, the issue should be arriving now!
