Drink of the Week: Deschutes Fresh-Squeezed IPA

In the Pacific Northwest, hops could easily be considered a food group all its own. A key ingredient to the region’s piney, citrusy, ever-so bitter IPAs, hops are a Northwest brewer’s best friend. And today’s Drink of the Week—the Fresh-Squeezed IPA from Bend, Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery—combines a trio of these resinous flowers (mosaic, citra and nugget) with a subtle mix of malts for an assertively hop-forward West Coast-style IPA. A recent addition to Deschutes’ year-round lineup, the Fresh-Squeezed IPA started its nationwide roll out earlier this month, just in time for beer-and-barbecue season. deschutesbrewery.com for distribution info
